About GroupBenefitPlans.ca

GroupBenefitPlans.ca helps Ontario employers find licensed benefits advisors to discuss group benefits and employee benefits plans. Our role is to make the connection and provide useful general information. The advisor you work with is responsible for assessing your needs and explaining available coverage.

Who the Referral Service Helps

Business owners can use the service when setting up a first benefits plan, reviewing an existing plan or preparing for a renewal. The relevant professional considers your industry, workforce and circumstances. An introduction is a starting point, not confirmation that a particular product is available or suitable.

Starting With the Right Information

We ask for practical business and contact information so the enquiry can be directed appropriately. You can explain your priorities and renewal timing without submitting detailed health or claims information. Any further sensitive information should follow the secure process agreed with the professional.

The Role of Your Broker or Advisor

Insurance advice and placement are handled by licensed brokers or advisors, not by GroupBenefitPlans.ca. Group health, life and disability products and workplace savings plans can involve different licensing categories. Ask the professional to explain their role, qualifications and the services they will provide.

Checking Professional Credentials

Verify a professional's licence with the relevant Ontario regulator and ask about the scope of their authorization. For life and health insurance, FSRA provides licensing information. A website introduction should not replace your understanding of who is advising you and in what capacity.

Market Access and Compensation Questions

Ask which insurers or other providers the professional can access and how they are compensated. Not every advisor represents every provider. GroupBenefitPlans.ca's referral service is free to use, but the terms and costs of any insurance you choose are explained by the professional and provider.

Contact Us About a Referral

Contact us about making an introduction or about the referral process. Policy servicing and claims questions belong with your broker, advisor or insurer. If you are requesting a new review, include the business name, preferred contact details and a short explanation of the help you need.
